Rescue and Extrication Equipment Refresher

Rescue and Extrication Equipment Refresher

Members of Wall Township First Aid & Rescue Squad gathered recently to refresh on the Squad’s rescue and extrication equipment. Vehicle 1-65 is a fully-equipped rescue and extrication truck with an on-board lighting mast, heavy duty on-board and portable hydraulic tools for extrication, a portable air bag system for lifting vehicles and other heavy objects, and other equipment for handling any rescue situation. Members worked through the full set of equipment and its uses. An upcoming drill at John Blewett, Inc. will see the Squad exercising the equipment on a variety of vehicles in a variety of positions (upright, rolled onto the side, rolled over). Anyone interested in joining the Squad as an extrication crew member is encouraged to apply immediately in order to attend the upcoming drill.
